ARC+ Day 17 – We made it

We crossed the finish line on December 5th at 14:36 local time in Grenada. The final hour was an intense upwind battle with another boat for the finish. We truly got to experience just how much our boat can heel. It was the toughest day of sailing—and drinking—by far, with constant sail changes: from Genoa to Parasailor, back to Genoa, and then to Jib, all while navigating through persistent squalls. We were welcomed with one of the strongest rum punches I’ve ever had. The photos clearly show just how happy we were to finally arrive! We’re still in celebration mode, so this will be a brief update. However, Jolanda will share a reflection and summary in the coming days.

We’re looking forward to the prize-giving ceremony, as there might be some surprises in the results—some of our competitors motored far more than we anticipated. Stay tuned!

Congratulations to you and the whole team. It sounds like it was a pretty hair-raising adventure, and the run and some rest are well-deserved.

It was fun to follow along, and thank you for sharing these posts as well. I’m glad you all survived in one piece. Actually, more than survived—it sounds like you were right at the front of the field.

    Fantastic work, you guys.
