Info: Took the parasailor down last night for the first time in 5 days due to local cells building and squalls in forecast. Sailed most of the night on main & poled out Genoa before deploying the parasailor back into active service in the small hours. As we have 2 US citizens on board, Thanksgiving is compulsory & will be taken seriously on Isabel this year!!
Plodding on nicely for the time being – All good on board!
First off, thank you to everyone for the Thanksgiving wishes and thoughtful messages. We’re so grateful to have so many of you following along on our big adventure. Today was another uneventful day, though that might change in the coming days as the wind picks up.
This morning, we managed to hoist the parasailor without waking Jolanda—seems like we’re really getting the hang of it! That said, I had to promise her I’d wake her next time so she can join in the excitement.
The only minor mishap was when my tether got caught in a sheet—I briefly envisioned myself dangling upside down halfway up the mast! Thankfully, Weed came to the rescue and helped untangle the knot.
With things quiet on the water, we had plenty of time to prepare for Thanksgiving dinner. Jolanda baked a delicious banana bread, and we enjoyed vegetarian pizza for dinner—something we’ve learned is called “Tea” in northern England.
