Seeing some signs of chafe around the boat (and crew!!).
Only minor breakages so far
So far, we’ve only snapped one line, which wasn’t a big issue, and there has been no other damage. Quite a few boats, however, have sustained significant damage and will need extensive repairs in Cape Verde to prepare for the next leg.
Today, we spotted even more dolphins, and I finally managed to capture a photo. Jolanda and Weed also baked some banana bread, making for an overall pleasant day of sailing. We chose not to change the sail plan, as the wind remained strong, though it is expected to decrease overnight. That will likely mean more work to keep the boat fast and on course.
We expect to reach Cape Verde tomorrow Friday around lunchtime. Can’t wait for my first beer for a week 🙂
